Bikram Yoga is a specialized series of yoga poses copyrighted by Bikram Choudhury and designed for Americans. The studio is heated to 105 degrees 40% humidity with 26 poses for 90 minutes. This hot yoga practice helps with weight loss, strength, posture, mental clarity and skin tone.

 

Bikram Yoga Roslyn's classes run seven days a week with sessions from the studio's Bikram Yoga Certified instructors. 

 

The studio's 3,400 square foot Bikram Yoga is equipped with a high-tech ionic air cleaning system to kill bacteria and monitors that track carbon dioxide and oxygen levels pumping in oxygen if levels get too low. The paint contains no volatile oxygen compounds and its floors are covered with antibacterial fabric which absorbs sweat, feels good and looks like wood.

 

The studio has two beautiful locker rooms and two private rooms offering wellness services that include massage therapy, facials, meditation, Bio Mat therapy, reflexology, acupuncture and chiropractic.

Q&A with Keith Weidenman

 

At current count Keith has completed 180 Bikram Yoga classes in 180 days! We are so inspired by him and wanted to know more about Keith and what keeps him ticking! 

 
Q: How Do You Feel After 180+ Days of Bikram Yoga
A: I feel as though I'm doing good things to my body and mind every time I take a class; that's why I keep coming.
 
Q: How Have You Changed Physically?
A: In general, I feel healthier, more flexible, and stronger every day.  I've lost weight and I've been told I look ten years younger than when I started taking Bikram classes.
 
Q: How Have You Changed Mentally?
A: I think I've become calmer, and at the same time, more determined.
 
Q: What Has Been Your Inspiration?
A: My inspiration was the feeling I got after my first class (the one that my sister brought me to in Providence RI).  It was a feeling of wanting to submerse myself into this practice in order to fully experience it. The challenge, the heat, the sweat and the relaxation after it was over were all factors in furthering my interest in Bikram yoga.
 
Q: Has Your Ability To Do Things Changed and If So Than What?
A:  I haven't noticed that my ability to do things has changed, but I believe I'm more focused, stronger and more patient; if that's true then it will lead to increased ability to do many things.
 
Q: Has Your Sleep Changed?
A: I've always been able to sleep well; although, since practicing Bikram yoga I would say I sleep more soundly. 
 
Q: How Do You Make Time to Fit It In Every Day?
A: I'm a retired teacher, so I have some flexibility, at least for now. I make it a priority to fit it in every day because I believe its beneficial.

Q: Has Your Eating Habit Changed?
A: My eating habits haven't changed much; I still eat what I like; however I eat less than I used to. I'm just not as hungry. 
 
Q: Has Your Spirituality Changed?
A: I'm probably a little more spiritual now.  I'm more focused on letting thoughts and emotions go while becoming more receptive to the universal positive energy that's all around us.
 
Q: Has Your Mental Clarity Changed?
A: Through continued Bikram yoga practice, it has become quite clear in my mind that the combination of great effort followed by total relaxation is a perfect way to train one's body and mind!
